Newsletter - July 2007

Hello Everyone! We want to thank everyone that came to the launch party for Phelan last month. What a great time we had! Phelan Irish Red is our new beer that won a bronze medal at the World Expo of Beer in Frankenmuth, Michigan back in May. Phelan is available at several local taverns in Bay City such as Hooligans, The Stein Haus, and Tommy V’s. The next time you are out, ask for Phelan. Let us know what you think of our new beer by sending us an email at kpeil@tricitybrewing.com.

As we mentioned in our last newsletter, Phelan is an old Gaelic word that means wolf. Phelan is an authentic Irish Red Ale that is medium bodied with a deep, ruby color, a moderate hop aroma, and a creamy tan head. We use a unique combination of four different malted barleys as well as two different hops for Phelan. We love this beer, and we hope that you will too.

We are excited to have both of our beers, Phoenix Golden Ale and Phelan Irish Red, at the Auburn Corn Festival from July 12 through July 15. Representatives from the brewery will be at the Corn Festival every night, so be sure to stop by and let them know what you think of our two beers. We are also open to any and all suggestions you might have in regards to the next styles of beer that you would like to see. Would you like us to make an IPA? How about an English Ale? How about a bottle-conditioned Belgian beer? A porter? A stout? Let us know what you think!

In regards to new styles of beer, our brewers have been experimenting with a few new recipes. There are two specific new styles that they have been playing around with, but we will keep these a secret until they are ready and you are able to try them. You’ll recall that we tested two new styles at the World Expo of Beer, and your overwhelming positive response to the Irish Red led us to put this beer into production and release to public as Phelan Irish Red. We are planning on sampling these two new styles of beer for the first time at the Mid Michigan Beer and Music Festival on Friday and Saturday, August 17 and 18, 2007. The Mid Michigan Beer and Music Festival will be held in the parking lot of Lumber Barons in Bay City. You can obtain more information on the Mid Michigan Beer and Music Festival by contacting Lumber Barons directly.

Both of our beers will also be featured at the Summer Michigan Beer Festival to be held in Ypsilanti, Michigan on Friday and Saturday, July 27 and 28, 2007. For more information on this festival, visit the following link: Michigan Beer Festival. This is quite a large event that is on the same scale as the World Expo of Beer in Frankenmuth. If you have friends or family in the Ypsilanti area, encourage them to attend as well so they can see what they are missing out on by not having our beers locally available to them!

Last month we told you that several of us were traveling to Minnesota to inspect the bottling line that is being built for us. Construction on the line is taking a little longer than we had hoped, but we do expect the entire system to ship to the brewery by the end of August. This will put the release of bottle forms of Phoenix and Phelan sometime in the month of September. The bottling line is an impressive piece of equipment capable of bottling approximately 5 cases of beer a minute when running at full capacity! We will continue to keep all of you up to date via this newsletter.

We have added several new clothing items to our online store. We have three new styles of t-shirts with “Phoenix Golden Ale” screened on the front. We also have two ladies styles tank tops – a wide strap tank and a spaghetti-style strap tank top. We also have a gray “Brew Crew” t-shirt available. Be part of the Tri City Brewing Brew Crew with one of these gray T’s! The gray Brew Crew shirts were very popular at the opening launch party for Phelan. We sold out of these shirts in only a couple of hours! Check out all of these items at our web store by clicking on the following link: web store.

That’s it for now. Thank you again for all of your support. We hope to see you at the Auburn Corn Festival next week as well as the Mid Michigan Beer and Music Festival next month. If any of you make the trip to Ypsilanti the end of July for the Michigan Beer Festival, please stop by our booth.

If you do not wish to continue to receive this newsletter or any other mailing from us, simply reply to this newsletter with the subject heading “remove from distribution list”. We will be back in touch soon. Prost!
