Tri City Brewing to Begin Bottling Operation

Hello Everyone! Yes, the title of this newsletter is correct. In a few short weeks The Tri City Brewing Company will begin its bottling operation. Throughout the summer months, our bottling line has been under construction in St. Paul, Minnesota. Construction of the line is complete and is now fully functional. The bottling line is being shipped to Bay City this week with the installation process to begin right away. The line we are receiving is quite a piece of equipment! It is designed to run at a full speed of 5 cases of bottles per minute. That’s right, 5 cases a minute! That’s equivalent to two 12 oz bottles of beer being filled and capped every second. Wow!

We expect to have both Phoenix Golden Ale and Phelan Irish Red available for sale in bottles in local stores sometime during the month of November. We will let you all know via this newsletter the day that the bottles will be released to stores. Demand for both Phoenix and Phelan in bottles is already very high. Our two local distributors, Fabiano Brothers and Griffin Beverage have already been signing up retail accounts that will be carrying the bottles. In addition, we have three other distributors throughout the state that have been asking for bottles. These distributors cover the Port Huron, Ann Arbor, and Detroit areas.

We are excited to announce that we will be opening our doors to the public for individuals to purchase direct from the brewery a growler of “brewery fresh beer”. We have a large supply of ½ gallon growlers at the brewery, and during the first weekend in November we will be opening our doors to the public for growler sales. You will be able to purchase an empty growler and have it filled at the brewery to take home. A ½ gallon growler is about four 16 oz glasses of beer. We have not set our hours yet to be open, but we will communicate to all of you via this newsletter as soon as we set them. You will also be able to keep current on our public hours via our website.

We are working on a number of items for the holiday season that will make perfect holiday gifts. These include a new line of t-shirts and sweatshirts as well as a new set of glasses. Some of these are already on our web store, while the remainder will be posted very soon. The one item that we are very excited about is a holiday gift box consisting of four glasses, an empty ½ gallon growler, and a coupon for one free fill of the growler. The perfect gift for that friend or family member that enjoys fine tasting beer! All of this will be available for purchase direct at the brewery during our public hours as well as from our web store. All of this will be available in a few short weeks.
