Hell's Half Mile

Hell's Half Mile is a German style Helles Lager that is pale gold with a creamy white head. Helles is German for bright.  Hell's Half Mile has an appealing grainy aroma with a slightly sweet malty flavor yet perfectly balanced with traditional noble hop characteristics. Don't let the light color fool you! This full bodied beer is complex and refreshing!

Phoenix Golden Ale

The original! This was our first beer that was named in honor of the last independent brewery to operate in Bay City, The Phoenix Brewing Company. Phoenix Golden Ale is an authentic German alt beer, so only imported German malted barleys, hops and yeast are employed in the production of this beer. Four different malted barleys are used in conjunction with a complex multi-step, infusion mash profile. The composition of the grain bill results in a dark gold color to Phoenix Golden Ale. The base malt is German 2-row Pils malt obtained exclusively from the summer growing season. Summer 2-row Pils malt from Germany is regarded by many as the highest quality malted barley available. This malt is known to provide higher amounts of body and mouth-feel to beer and accounts for a creamier, longer lasting head. Phoenix has a lager-like smoothness with an ale-like taste that is richly malty and long on the finish.

Phelan Irish Red

Phelan Irish Red is an authentic Irish Ale with its own unique flavor.  It is medium bodied with a deep ruby color, moderate malt aroma, and a creamy, tan head.

We use a unique combination of pale ale malt, caramel malts, and roasted barley to give a subdued sweetness with a slight toffee-like quality. 

Our multi-step, infusion mash process gives a distinctive maltiness with a dry, clean, roasted grain finish. The malt characteristics are balanced with a light, smooth bitterness and low hop aroma from traditional English hops.

Phelan was awarded a Bronze Medal at the World Expo of Beer in the Spring of 2007!

Brownhoist Nut Brown Ale

Brownhoist draws its name from the rich industrial history of Bay City. Industrial Brownhoist was once a major manufacturer of industrial cranes, where many are still in operation today! Our Nut Brown Ale is medium bodied with a rich mahogany-brown color. We use five different types of premium-malted barley and two hop varieties for the malty flavor with a perfect balance of bitterness and sweetness.

Fortunato

Fortunato is a Belgian-style Trappist Ale that is bottled conditioned. This high alcohol (7.5% abv) and very complex ale is brewed in the finest Belgian tradition. Like most Trappist style ales, Fortunato's complexity comes from using authentic Belgian ingredients as well as an authentic Belgian Trappist ale yeast. Fortunato is definitely a beer that you don't want to miss!

Giant Slayer Russian Imperial Stout

This Russian Imperial stout is just bursting with an abundance of character! Our biggest beer, coming in at 8.5% abv, is sure to be the new favorite of stout fans. Giant Slayer is an intense stout that presents itself with huge roasted, chocolate, and coffee malt flavors. Although well hopped, this beer is still very balanced. Giant Slayer provides a rich, full bodied drinking experience with dark hints of old world style.

Dry Dock Irish Stout

This Dry Irish Stout has a black hull, with planks of mahogany highlights and creamy long lasting tan froth, above deck. It is a medium bodied, smooth stout brewed with four varieties of malted barley in the Irish tradition. The aroma has tides of subtle chocolate with a robust coffee wake. The initial flavor features hints of chocolate and rich coffee that sails smoothly to a dry roasted malt finish with a perfect balance of hop bitterness.

Lumberjack Pale Ale

Lumberjack is a traditional style American Pale Ale brewed with 100% malted barley. Lumberjack is full bodied with a perfect citrus hop aroma and smooth hop flavor. Although brewed with plenty of hops, Lumberjack also has plenty of malt character. This traditional style ale is crisp and refreshing presenting a smooth and enjoyable drinking experience for any time of the year.

Loon's Summer Ale

Loon's Summer Ale is a smooth, clean, light blonde ale. This all-malt beer is perfectly balanced to provide a clean, clear presentation without the heavy cloudiness that is often found in summer wheat-beers, The hops that were selected accentuate the light malt flavor and provide a touch of bitterness. The unique yeast and hop combination give this beer a hint of citrus aroma with a delicate Belgium flavor that provides a refreshing, thirst quenching finish - perfect on a hot summer day at a Loon's baseball game!!

Loon's Summer Ale will be available throughout the 2009 season at The Dow Diamond in Midland, MI and at a few, select, establishments in the Tri-Cities!
